Midwood Lodge and Cottage are beautiful self catering holiday cottages in Alnmouth. The secluded bungalow has private parking, a large woodland garden, a tree house, and a bike shed. You can walk to the beach and Alnmouth village. Our cottages offer a serene escape surrounded by nature. Enjoy the comforts of home with modern amenities and a beautiful garden. Ideal for couples or families looking to create lasting memories in Northumberland.
The fantastic hidden location is just 5 minutes from the beach and village, with private parking, which is unusual in the village. There is a large woodland garden, a tree house, a tyre swing and a bike shed! Great for families and couples. The Lodge sleep 5 guests and the Cottage sleeps 2 guests or they can be booked together for family holidays.

Midwood Lodge and Cottage were awarded ‘The Hidden Gem NorthEast Award’ in 2018 by eviivo. Great for families and couples, they sleep 5 guests and 2 guests or can be rented together.
We advertise our Northumberland coastal accommodation on other websites but it is always cheaper to book directly with us by using our ‘book online button’ or simply contact us for rates for your specific dates. In peak holiday times we offer Friday to Friday lettings but at other times we offer short breaks of 3 nights or more. Weekly bookings from Friday to Friday always have a special offer rate.
Please note our online booking system refers to “rooms” but this actually means that you will be booking the whole of either the Lodge or the Cottage.

Midwood Lodge
Midwood Lodge has two lovely spacious bedrooms, one with kingsize bed, the other with a bed children will adore, triple bunk beds! The Lodge sleeps 5 guests.
Luxurious family bathroom with smart contemporary bathroom suite and shower over the bath. Wonderful wood burning stove, we also provide free logs for guests to use. Stunning, stylishly furnished open plan lounge with plenty of comfy sofas to relax on and a separate dining area with large dining table. There is seating for up to 9 guests. Brand new kitchen with electric cooker and hob, dishwasher and a washer/dryer. Wonderful sunny conservatory with doors to private patio area.
Midwood Cottage
Midwood cottage is beautifully decorated and furnished in a fresh and pretty New England style. There is a lovely light and airy kingsize bedroom with a luxurious en-suite shower room. The open plan lounge kitchen/diner is spacious, with comfortable seating and a round dining table that seats four. A door opens onto the wonderful secluded woodland garden. There is a patio area for outside dining. The kitchen is well equipped with dishwasher, electric cooker and washer/dryer.
Free WIFI is available and Netflix is available to our guests. Linen and towels are provided for your visit.

FAQ
Do you need a car at Alnmouth Cottages?
You can take the train from London to Alnmouth or Edinburgh to Alnmouth. It is on the main London to Scotland route. We can pick you up from the station most of the time on request, we are up in Alnmouth on Fridays and we are happy to pop to the station. Otherwise we can help arrange taxis for you. It is about 10 – 15 minutes walk.
Some guests take a day trip to Edinburgh or Newcastle.
Are there buses which serve the village?
There are buses that serve the village and take you to Alnwick. This year there was a free tourist bus for the local area! The bus stop is at the end of our drive heading to Alnwick and outside the old Methodist church on the return journey just opposite Midwood Lodge and Cottage. The X18 runs to Alnwick and Alnmouth and Newcastle.
FAQ
Do you accept pets?
We are sorry but unfortuantely we do not accept pets. There are cottages locally who do accept pets and we are happy to put you in contact with them.
Do you have an Electric Vehicle charger at Alnmouth Cottages?
No unfortunately due to insurance restrictions we do not have one, but there are some in the village by the golf course which you can use. Alternatively there are EV charges in Alnwick by Willowburn Leisure Centre and Greenwell car park as well as other sites.
Is the property on one level?
Yes the property is a bungalow and as such it is easy for access. We have a full access statement on our downloads page. We have had visitors who have found the Cottage easy to manage as there is also an ensuite shower room.
Wonderful New Year
Dec – Jan 24
A wonderful New Year’s getaway and friendship get together. Beautiful and cosy cottage to enjoy knitting and movie nights in stunning location. Walked to Warkworth despite the rain along beach. Warm delicious lunch at Bertram’s and bus to explore Alnwick and Barter Books. Then glorious sunshine for New Years Day walk from Craster to Dunstanburgh Castle and another nostalgic day out to Edinburgh via the beautiful train route.

When you first walk in you think wow!
Then you keep going and going and you’re, like, wooow. This is a great space to host a family party and so close to the beach. It’s really modern, perfect for a sophisticated escape. It’s very convenient as a base to explore Northumberland by car.
